Ikan Bakar @ Bukit Bakri

最初从朋友那里听说了这间巴口烧鱼,关于这家只卖海鲜的餐馆,关于从不售卖白饭的老板,关于自由开放地让顾客外带食物,还有关于海鲜与叁峇辣椒的完美搭配。直到一个特别的夜晚,兜兜转转,MuarKaki 终于来到了位于巴口新村的巴口烤鱼。巴口烧鱼是个适合家人朋友聚餐的地方,大约有15桌所以无需等待。地方非常宽敞,绝对适合把酒问青天高谈阔论天下事,不怕干扰到邻座的顾客!我没有注意到店家有任何菜单,想必读者们大可向老板或伙计询问当日的新鲜活!
I have heard so much about this Ikan Bakar and MuarKaki finally had the chance to visit this place on a special day! This place is famous for its depth of flavors from a perfect combination of sambal and seafood, and also they are very specific when it comes to the food they serve - ONLY seafood! They do not serve even rice, so you are most welcomed to bring your own rice and other dishes too! SO, all the publicity is true. The place is spacious with around 15 + dining tables. I did not notice any menu in the restaurant but I guess you could just go ahead and consult the waiter/waitress for the daily menu as I think they receive seafood daily and check it for quality and freshness before it is even prepared and served.

各式新鲜海鲜都摆放在桌子上,方便食客挑选。
一踏入门口,迎面而来的是一阵阵海鲜烧烤味,夹扎着呛鼻的辣椒香,我想我打了约5个喷嚏,潜在的食欲也即刻被挑起!看着其它食客大口的享受者鲜虾苏东啦啦烧鱼的,我已经大力向老板娘挥手示意,尽早点菜!

上菜的时间刚好在我们闲聊家常后,大约10-15分钟。严重警告了摄影小姐加快拍照的速度后,大开杀戒的时间终于到了!升级加大版的辣炒啦啦是个亮丽的开场,香辣的辣椒渗透啦啦里头,带出啦啦的鲜甜却不盖过主角的风头!再来闪亮登场的是重量级的烧烤魔鬼鱼,鲜红的叁峇辣椒底下藏着嫩滑的魔鬼鱼肉,再将酸柑汁均匀的洒上,我想这光是想像就能令我口水直流了!接下来的烧苏冬和大虾卖相十足,令人食指大动,欲罢不能

Once we stepped in the shop we were welcomed by a spicy peppery smell which immediately stimulated the nerves and caused 5 sneezes in a row! We were all so hungry and did not wait too long to order. The serving time was just nice, 15 minutes when we just got done with gossiping! Spicy “lala” was the first to be served. Juicy clams flesh with an added fragrant sambal spice blend was fantastic. Next, we had the sambal grilled Ikan Pari. Mild, flaky-textured fish fillet served with sambal and lime juice squeezed on top was simply amazing. My Goodness, my dear readers, if you are going, PLEASE make sure you bring some rice with you! The last two dishes we had were grilled calamari and prawns which were both amazingly cooked!

海鲜的新鲜程度佳,所采用的辣椒香而不过分辣。有点可惜的是我们忘了点原味烧烤海鲜,听说是将海鲜用姜片酱清等爆香炒熟,听起来相当不错!整体来说,食物服务场合等都好,单纯不做作,让我颇有微言的也只有两点:魔鬼鱼的肉质有点逊色,苏冬也或许能多烧个10秒。最后MuarKaki奉劝各位自认是饭桶的读者自行携带白饭或到邻近食阁购买。若运气好碰上老板家里有多余白米饭,可向老板讨一些,很有人情味呢!老板也欢迎顾客们打包其它食物和店里的食物一起享用,非常开通民主呢!
三两知己来这里点上几样,再来几瓶啤酒,大声说大声笑,人生也不过如此嘛!

They offer a wide variety of fresh seafood ranges from fish, squid, calamari, prawns, clams/”lala” and etc. This is also the place where you’ll find flavored and interpretations not to be easily found somewhere else. In short, food and services are amazing. However, I wish they could grill the calamari for another 10 seconds maybe? Hehe Also, the quality of Ikan pari we had was not as fresh and tender as we thought! A friendly reminder once again, you are welcomed to bring additional dishes / rice as you wish!
Come enjoy the warm atmosphere as I definitely think it is a great place to hang out with the BFF. Awesome food, chilled beers and great company, who can ask for more?

Red House Spicy Delight

首次挑战西餐厅!位于的红馆是我们摄影小姐爱借酒消愁的其中一个地方,但是一直以来还未正式向大家介绍这家店。红馆的餐单不复杂,基本款如西施日式肉扒薯条浓汤等都有。店内的气氛灯光设施舒适,也不想其它café般过于吵杂,能待上几小时聊聊天说说话,美中不足的是偶尔会被其他顾客的二手烟严重干扰。
For this entry, MuarKaki pay homage to this long existed Red house for our first Western food entry! This used to be one of  STT’s favorite hangout place, but we haven’t had the opportunity to try the food until this. Their menu was simple and direct as you can find basic western style entrees with various appetizers. The interior is comfy and it’s not as crowded as other cafes in Muar thus make it a pleasant ambience to dine in too. On a side note, MuarKaki found out that Red House is actually a home for quintessential Malaysian-Western dishes which was created by Hainanese chefs who had previously worked in colonial English restaurants.
蘑菇浓汤份量十足(超大碗),调味刚好也没带来多大惊喜。饮料如粉红石榴汁蜂蜜绿茶也很普通。
Mushroom Soup was served in a great portion but the taste was just average. Drinks we ordered such as Pink Guava Juice and Honey Green Tea did not bring any surprises too.
红馆招牌铁板黑胡椒鸡扒香味四溢,而且铁板与鸡扒得完美组合滋滋作响,色香味俱全!这里的黑胡椒酱汁可不像市面现成那种黏黏糊糊带点化学味儿,鸡扒的肉质也鲜嫩多汁,光芒并不完全被辛辣的黑胡椒汁盖过。鸡扒香脆的表皮加上黑胡椒的香气令人想即刻大快朵颐 (虽说我们还是觉得鸡扒加上蛋的组合能够再加强)!
The famous Sizzling Black Pepper Chicken Chop was good, very good indeed! Juicy grilled boneless chicken leg was gorgeously tender and the accompanying black pepper sauces made a pleasant combination.
这里的日式盐烤牛扒口感很好,单纯的盐烤把牛肉的香味升华。蔬菜沙拉和薯条也更能衬托出豪迈的牛排厚度!cp 要求的五分熟牛扒这个小小要求却似乎被忽略了,因为肉质显得有些老,肉汁与血色略少。
I could imagine the chef seasoning the steak with fine-grained sea salt and threw it on the grill when they served the Japanese Sea Salt Steak. Yes, it’s as simple as it tasted without flattering presentation. While I am not an expert in gourmet salt, I did some research that the Japanese Sea Salt is supposed to bring the grace and definition to the red meat. However, one thing that disappointed us was the slightly overcooked steak that ruined the texture and tenderness of the steak even though we requested for medium rare.
烤羊扒简单不做作,新鲜的羊肉加上基本的调味把羊肉的臊味降到我能接受的水平,正中下怀!两大片的羊排份量十足,物超所值!有点小小可惜的是虽然我再三强调我要五分熟,但是呈上的却已是七分熟(10% 血色),影响了羊排肉质。
 Two hearty pieces of grilled lamb chop is a generous portion if you consider the price which is RM 19.90! I requested for medium cooked but I was a little upset with the medium well lamb. The meat was not as tender and juicy as I’d imagined but it was well marinated with the perfect flavor. No excessive spices or seasonings were used and thus it had decent depth and savory flavors for the price you paid!
There was attention paid to both the main and side dishes. Light salted fries were crisp and salad was freshly prepared. The quality of the food is compromised by the price. Service was decent but second hand smokes from other customers could be annoying at times.
品尝后心得:店里的食材新鲜,但厨师对红肉烤物的掌握还不够纯熟。
p/s: Sometimes it doesn't even matter when you have great companies.

Quan Wei Asam Fish

好,废话不多说,这次我要爽快点,直接切入主题。
So as to cater for the growing demands of Muar Kaki’s readers, here comes the very first entry in English! Hooray!

要做一道好吃的亚参鱼看似简单,新鲜的鱼加上酸辣的亚参汤汁就成,但背后却隐藏着相当复杂的准备步骤。店家首推的亚参鱼汤汁较浓稠,若依照我个人的喜好,则少了点辣味酸味及鲜甜。老实说,此行完全是冲着全味新鲜的鱼而来,所以当我吃到了鲜嫩的红枣鱼片(虽然略嫌单薄),也觉得不虚此行了!
Everyone has their own interpretation and standards for Assam Fish. Quan Wei Assam Fish comes in the reddish assam soup with no surprise. The assam soup was good but not extraordinarily satisfying as it was too mild to my preference, maybe it’s more suitable for people who can’t take the heat! However, it was compensated by the sweet tenderness of the Red Snapper fish (you can make your own choice of fish).
金沙豆腐,名字取得好,有点低调的奢华feel。但端上时,却无法吸引我的目光,比我想象的黯淡。炸好的豆腐洒上香酥的咸鱼丁恰到好处,增加口感与呈次感。可惜酱汁欠缺浓郁香味,纯属个人微见。

Their signature Golden Tofu was appetizing. Deep fried Japanese tofu with some salty fish bits sprinkled on top has made a perfect combination. The seasoning is just nice to my taste though I’d imagine a thicker and more flavorful sauce.
全味的马来风光 并无带来惊喜,平平凡凡。蕹菜的熟度刚好,美中不足的是爆香不足的虾米和叁巴辣椒酱。
Kangkung Belacan (stir fry water spinach with spicy sambal)is another all-time favorite of Muarians. The kangkung belacan served here was suitably crunchy but not as flavorful as I thought.

店家并无刻意标榜健康干净,我们却不得不认同全味是少油少盐的推崇者。老饕们或许认为不够重口味,但如果你想要在美食与健康取得一个平衡点,全味亚参鱼是个不错的选择!
All in all food was good but not fantastic. Three dishes served with rice and homemade herbal teas for two were satisfying. The dining experience was good. The prices here don’t burn your pockets but it’s more expensive than restaurants of similar quality. 
两人三份,白饭两盘,外加凉茶二杯,虽觉得饱,但却不腻!出菜时间稍慢,价钱也比一般餐馆贵少许, 但胜在食材新鲜,诚意十足,环境舒适
Food served here might not be the best you could find in town, but the fact that the dishes are on the less greasy and less salty sides means you could frequent without worrying the extra cholesterol! It could well be a place to visit sometimes sooner rather than later.

Bukit Bakri Char Kuey Tiao

鮮蛤炒粿條可算是麻坡人的all time favorite.早午餐或下午茶都能在麻坡市区轻易找到售卖炒粿條的档口,但这项任务过了五六点却显得有些难。在cp的建议下,我们来到位于吧口的炒粿條档口。

粿条、鲜虾、豆芽、韭菜、鲜蛤和鸡蛋炒做一盘,却少了点香气扑鼻。配料的分量拿捏的恰当,但是个人认为火候的掌控则稍微逊色,似乎错过了爆香的时机。据说这档老字号曾经凭着香味四溢的鮮蛤炒粿條再添加上特制甜酱,风靡了吧口一带的老顾客。 而今传承于徒弟缺少了一份老字号的炒粿條风味,名气与香味大不如前

虽说如此,排在我们之后的客人可不少啊!或许对他们来说,这看似平凡的鮮蛤炒粿條或许承载着他们舌尖上的记忆!

Jalan Hashim Prawn Noodle

热腾腾的虾面和叁岜辣椒搅和,并将酸柑汁淋上,这就是我记忆中的新路虾面
这档位于麻坡新路(Jalan Hashim)的新路虾面,由父子档经营。和我们熟悉的槟城虾面最大的差别,福建炒虾面是爆炒洋葱与黄面米粉,再搭配虾,鸡蛋,叉烧,豆芽等材料。其炒虾面颜色较丰富,让人看了食指大动!和其它档口比较下,新路虾面的汤汁收得恰当,多一点太湿,少一点则太干。汤头的鲜甜,利落的炒法及火候的控制是福建炒面的3大重要因素。老板熟练的翻搅锅内的面条和配料,增添让人过瘾的锅气。

我们点了2碟小的虾面和印度面。上菜时间大约10分钟,正好我们在我们闲话家常后。第一印象还属不错,卖相看起来饱满,色香味俱全。吃下第一口的感觉还不赖,细米粉吸足汤头精华,酸酸辣辣的叁岜辣椒和酸柑汁提升呈次感!虽说如此,总觉得店家还能在汤头下多点功夫,让老饕能彻底感受到虾面应有的鲜甜!

彤灵小姐也献上了吕妈妈私人赏赐的椰花酒,再搭配黑啤酒,一凉一补,巧妙的综合了那椰花酒里扑鼻的酒饼气味。
老板纯练的煮炒技巧加上老板娘的热情招待让熟客们都再次光临,深受大众喜爱,建议你可前去尝试一番!

New Eastern Restaurant

这是一家老店。一家很老的店-“新东方茶餐室”。它位于在闹区里,夹于麻坡二马路City Star书店和小儿科诊所之间。严格来说,这家老店并不难找。
由于我今晚提早故,所以我真是了一个。起初我并不知原来这间茶餐室有两个业时间,那就是上午12:30pm-3:30pm 及晚上7pm-9:45pm. 当我到达那里,我看到大紧紧地关着,心里,完了,必须换地点。但当我好全部人,我才店家早已把帘拉起。所以呢,如果你是大六点半达到家店的,你只能先到附近的店走走逛逛,因店家只会在七点整准再开店。
我趁老板娘空地呆在柜台,和她聊了起来。老板娘和我一家店已了30多年之久。我相信里或也有藏着属于我爸爸妈妈的故事。老板娘和我好几十年前里也是一个被择为的地方哦。里的食物也吸引了我国家的政治人物前来一探究竟。
当你一踏家店,你就仿佛跌了一个光隧道。老板娘在店里留了一个角落来放各式各各形各色的可罐子。老板娘和我是她将近30多年来的收藏。只要她的朋好友到世界各地游玩,他就会来当地特色的可罐子。老板娘颇遗憾地,她欠缺之前一个香港的限版可罐子。
除此之外,店里有四"包"。每一都是独立式地隔,所以你有自己的私空。我相信如果在么一个空里用餐的,想必也有一番味吧 :)

家店是没有一份式的Menu。你只能倚靠一张贴在其中一外的菜。原本我认为既然我有五个人,我可以点多一些菜色。我们每人还是选择保守拒绝改变地点了相同的食物大家都点了些曾或旁人推介的。我和影小姐点了炒,另外三位特宾则点了两份排和一份柳。我外加点了五个翅和一个Sotong Sambal。附注一下,炸翅并非被列在餐里的菜上。我其偷偷听到隔壁桌的食客点的,所以也算是到了。
至于料而言,里的榨柳橙汁是必点的啦。因榨(freshly squeezed)的关系,所以你能喝到一颗颗细细的果肉。我听如果你喜厚一点的柳橙汁的,店家是可以你的柳橙汁加上双倍的柳橙。想当然而,价也是双倍增加啦。
里等食物上桌的是要等上20时间排和柳首先登里的排没有我的黑胡椒或酸甜的口味。它只有实实在在地原味。肉是滑的,配汁是香郁的,而且有一蛋!美中不足的是食物有点偏油个人是排会比柳来的好吃,因为鸡肉的嚼感会比柳来的有性。

翅上做桌,其我有点异。我原本以为鸡肉是采用油炸的做法,但原来店家是用大蒜和耗油来煮食翅。肉的味道是不,因浓浓的大蒜味。我个人是得有点咸啦,但因人而异,每个人吃西的口味也不一
当我的Sotong Sambal 上桌,我原以是店家搞了,因上桌的是一炸sotong。老板娘和我们说是厨房那儿搞了。我也欣然接受错误道炸苏东和我一般在Asam Fish店里吃到的有点不一。它酥酥的但不脆
左等右等左盼右盼,却是没有等到盼到我的两份炒。当我向老板娘,我原来我的炒并没有列在点里。Omg。好吧,幸好炒不需要太麻的料理程序,只需10分就搞定了。炒饭绝要配上辣椒仔,尤其店家采用了越南辣椒。个炒有很重的气味,而气味是需要很大的火候才能构成。如果你不明白何谓锅气味的,那不妨来尝尝方茶餐室的炒吧!锅气味有那么好尝吗?
而来家有着浓浓纯纯古早味的茶餐室,确实能让你尝到一些很复古的一种味道,一种从以前以前就流传到现在的口味。我觉得这家店整体而言,食物是偏向重口味的。如果你是习惯清清淡淡且喜欢不咸不油的食物的话,那你应该会对这地方谢绝止步。
